In Vienna, VA, the Elgin Drive project involved transforming a dated sunroom, living room, and kitchen for a couple who wanted a fresh, inviting space for entertaining and enjoying time with their grandchildren.
The clients envisioned turning the underused sunroom into a sophisticated wine room to house the husband’s wine collection in temperature-controlled units, setting the tone for the home's overall aesthetic update.
The wine room became the heart of the renovation, inspiring the design flow into the kitchen and family room. The goal was to create comfortable, inviting spaces that balanced elevated style with functionality for both adults and grandchildren. The updated kitchen and living areas followed this vision, ensuring a cohesive look that marries sophistication with warmth.
One of the standout features in the family room is the beautiful Francois and Co. mantle, which adds a touch of elegance. Custom drapery throughout the spaces enhances the refined yet welcoming atmosphere.
Designing spaces that felt elevated for entertaining while still being functional for kids was a key challenge.
We achieved this by integrating stylish yet durable materials and creating layouts that facilitate both grand gatherings and intimate family moments.
